Black leggings would probably give you thicker protection on your legs than just tights. And a lot of cheerleaders at my school wore them under their uniforms all winter long, so it DOES work with the costume.

You could also try to find a black windbreaker or track jacket to wear over your shirt. Hot topic carries them, but they may be a bit pricey – maybe try Wal-Mart, or a thrift store. You could also try a black, red or grey (grey would look AWESOME) turtleneck UNDER your tank top. Again, most of the cheerleaders I knew in school wore these under their uniforms, and it looks pretty good, actually. And turtlenecks can be found cheap at Wal-Mart or Target.

Don’t forget warm socks and good, sturdy shoes! Have fun, and stay warm!

You could wear nylons under the skirt. It would help at least a little to keep your legs warmer. You could also get under armor to wear under your top.

How about black (or nude) leggings under your tights and a black (or nude) turtleneck under your top. Remember socks and a hat!

Well at least you’re wearing the right color. Look up the word "albedo" in a dictionary. The low albedo of black is going to help you. Light colors reflect heat away. Dark colors absorb heat. It has to do with albedo. I agree also with what stormy said. Leggings help and so do socks. If you can, try to wear wool or polyester rather than cotton. Wool and polyester trap in warm air. Cotton lets cold air circulate. Also, if you really want to be extra-cautions try to wear two pairs of socks. I do that when it gets really cold and it makes a world of difference.
