How to Make Wolverine Claws for a Kids Costume?Not the Yellow Costume but the More Human Wolverine.?
I need some ideas on how to make retractable (safe) claws for my 8 yr old this year for halloween. Has anybody tried this and it went over well? Iv got as far as the black gloves with no fingers but not sure what to use for the blades and how to retract them.SAFELY!!!

I have been making costumes for years and years and I do not know of any way to make retractable claws on a hand or glove. What if you just made the blades soft and flexable instead of hard? You could make them out of grey craft foam (sometimes called fun foam) and sew or glue them to the gloves. They would be safe and still give the look of claws. Craft foam comes in sheets like paper and is available at craft stores and dept. stores.
