Hallowe’en was not intended for kids, but the trick or treating has made it appear to be.
Hallowe’en is one of the days of the dead, when the dead are remembered and the veil between this life and the next is supposedly at its thinnest. Its name is derived from "all hallows eve", meaning it is the day before All Hallows, or All Saints.
