Using Fun Foam in a Fursuit Head

First off, please excuse my math :3 I get a little scared (and thus ditzy) whenever I make videos! The weight is approximately 14-15 lbs. I don’t think another pound of weight would make much of a difference. Heck I could add another five pounds and I think the effect would still be the same. This is a video showing how I use fun foam as a component in my fursuit heads. Again, this is only a component of my heads. I also use upholstery foam as another layer, which creates the features of the head. This further reinforces the entire head structure, as does the fur “skin”. My heads are pretty hard to break. I’ve had kids pull and grab the muzzle of my personal suit with no ill effects (they wanted to yank my head off and prove I was a person inside!). This video is to demonstrate that this offbeat technique is actually a pretty decent one– and that almost any material used properly can be sturdy. The thick foam in the muzzle means that if you smack it really hard, it still retains its shape. Since the foam is flexible, the head can also be smushed up and crumpled and still retain its shape. I’ve carelessly packed my personal head (made with a crappier version of this technique) into suitcases and plastic boxes, I just shake it out and it pops back into shape. These heads do not damage easily. This head is being made for a customer; they gave me advance permission to “abuse” it a little for this video. NOTE– I do not advocate using craft foam alone as the base for a head
