What Should I Do About Mascot at My 3 Year Olds Birthday Party?
My husband and I spent a lot of money for a large red mascot costume for our kids parties. It has been a hit every time we’ve used it at parties (twice already). We’re hosting our 3 year olds birthday party this weekend and my best friend’s 5 year old son is scared to death of it. Of course they’re invited. I don’t know what to do. We really want to have the special visitor, but don’t want to upset my friend either. She would probably understand that we want to use it b/c you only get so many little kid birthday parties in a lifetime, but don’t want him to be uncomfortable either.
Have the "mascot" hand out candy and treats at the party. Make sure your friends child is one of the first kids to receive a treat. Candy could make a kid unafraid of Alien vs Predator.
I’d use it if my child liked it…go for it
Print out a quick picture of one of you in it, and give it to her. Where she can talk about it with her child.
You should have a talk with your friend. Let her know she and her son are invited, but also let her know that the "mascot" will be there. She can decide what to do after that.
Great advice already, I’d say the picture idea is genius along with the candy sounds like a sure-fire plan.
